Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions

These terms and conditions are a binding legal document which exists between the ‘guest’ and the ‘company’. When payment has been received for a booking it is deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.

The company: refers to the Secret Wood Glamping.
The guest: refers to ‘you’ the individual or group who made payment at the time of booking.
The company reserves the right to change its website and websites through which its glamping, including prices, and terms and conditions, without notice.
The company reserves the right to refuse entry to the site, cancel bookings, or instruct people to leave the site at their discretion if deemed necessary and in the best interests of health and safety in relation to both people and animals/livestock (for example due to inappropriate behaviour, dangerous weather or site conditions). All areas of the farm are strictly out of bounds.

To secure your required booking date, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of your booking is taken. This amount goes towards the total amount due for your stay, which is due 28 days before your booking date. For bookings made less than 4 weeks in advance the full amount is payable on booking. Your booking is not confirmed until the booking deposit is received in cleared funds. Acceptance of these terms and conditions is automatically assumed so we recommend you read them carefully before payment of the deposit. You will be sent a reminder when your balance is due.

Cancellation Policy

Payments for bookings are non-refundable under any circumstances. If it becomes necessary for you to cancel your booking tell us immediately by telephone and then in writing and we will, without prejudice to our right to full payment, take reasonable steps to re-let the tent. If we manage to re-let the tent we will refund your money, less a £50 administration charge. We strongly recommend a form of holiday insurance policy is taken out.

Guests must be respectful to other guests on the site. Loud noise and nuisance will not be tolerated at any time and all noise must be kept to a minimum after 11pm. We do have a no music policy after 10pm. Guests who in our reasonable opinion are causing nuisance may be required to immediately leave the site. 

Occupancy of a bell tent must not exceed 6 adults or 2 adults and up to 4 children and we reserve the right to decline accommodation and/ or ask you to leave the site at any time if your numbers exceed this. The booking will then be deemed cancelled with full loss of payment. 

Please remember you are staying in a woodland camping environment with live animals and other hazards. Some of the camp equipment can be dangerous if misused. The proprietor accepts no liability for any accident, injury, loss or damage sustained by any resident, their family, visitors, animals, vehicle or personal effects however caused. Please do not leave children unaccompanied in the woodland areas. Guests should acknowledge that glamping involves exposure to nature, including insects and wildlife. The design of the tents helps keep them at bay, but guests should take sensible precautions and we will not be liable for harm arising from such natural phenomena. Please note the site is in the open countryside/woodland therefore hay fever sufferers are advised to take anti-histamines.

Guests will be held responsible for any fire, damage or alteration to the structure caused by negligence.

Any damage or breakages which may occur must be paid for. Small accidental damages or breakages of a minor nature will not normally be charged but you are required to report all breakage and damage to the owners at the time or before you leave the camp.

In extreme weather Secret Wood Glamping reserves the right to close the venue. No refund will be given if the site is unable to open due to extreme weather and if we feel the venue has become unsafe but alternative dates will be offered for your payment to be set against.

Any complaints must be made known to us immediately. No complaints will be entertained at the end of the stay or after the guest has departed. 

Secret Wood Glamping accept no liability for any belongings left in the tents at any time. 
Tent rules
Please do not use any lighting, heating, cooking or gas appliances or electric heaters, or any fire, candle or other naked flames inside the tents
When the tent is unoccupied, keep it closed, dry and secure and in particular to close any door fastenings.
Please do not tamper with the structure or any part of the equipment and in particular not affix or suspend any item from the tent.
No footwear inside the tents.

Eco friendly toiletries and washing products will be provided.  No other products are allowed to be used whilst on your stay due to the nature of the site.

If you leave your tent in an improper condition, we are entitled to charge an extra fee of 30GBP of additional (cleaning) costs. This can double to 60GBP. Dishes should be washed, and all waste left in correct bins provided.


Fires ans barbecues can only take place within the fire pit provided.  Fire extinguishers are provided if needed.

Dog Policy

A maximum of two well behaved dogs are allowed to join you in the Secret Wood.  Dogs must be kept on a lead coming to and from the wood due to livestock.  If a dog does cause a nuisance or you arrive without pre-booking a dog in, we reserve the right to ask that you take your dog to a local kennel. Dogs are not allowed within the main tent or on any of the furniture.  Dogs are more than welcome in 'Doris' our 5 metre bell tent which will also be for all muddy boots and wet clothing.  Dogs are not to be left unattended in the wood at anytime during your stay, unless left securely within the cage provided.  Dogs must be picked up after and placed in the bin.


No livestock is to be touched or fed at anytime. Electric fencing does secure our livestock if any harm was to come you or any of the party Secret Wood take no responsibility for any injury caused.

Smoking is not permitted inside the tents under any circumstances. Smoking outdoors is permitted but please collect any cigarette butts and dispose of them appropriately.

​If booking on behalf of other people, the individual making the booking is responsible for disseminating the appropriate information to those persons that we send them. For example, these Terms and Conditions, Tent details including directions, and on arrival, the Information Pack within each tent, to ensure they are fully aware of the nature of the campsite, Health and Safety issues, the wider woodland, the facilities, and appropriate any clothing and footwear they require. Only the guests originally booked are permitted to stay on site. When enjoying your stay at Secret Wood Glamping, particularly at night, please be considerate to our neighbours. Noise levels must be kept to a minimum after 10pm. This means chatting outside must be with low voices. If the site manager feels the need to speak to the group on 2 separate occasions during your stay about being too noisy, the manager reserves the right to ask noisy/disruptive guests to leave.


The Secret Wood is located within a valley and the access is steep with no access for wheelchairs or pushchairs.  Appropriate footwear is essential.
